Surely nonduality is better than duality?
But wait a minute, those words “better than” … that’s duality!
Putting nondualism in opposition to dualism is duality.
This pseudo-opposition is about the concept of nonduality (nondualism), not the nondual, which isn’t available to thinking.
Nondualism (as a philosophy) is dualistic!
Our mind’s translation of reality is always dual. There’s no way around that.
A nondual “realization” is a realization of the nondual within the experience of duality.
Nothing changes.
It was already the case.
This right now is the nondual, experienced as dual.
The ultimate nature of reality is nondual and the embodied experience is dual. They’re not opposites.
We’ll never experience the nondual within the dual.
But we don’t have to experience it to know it!
We can know it because we ARE it before/beyond/underneath/around/within/through the dualistic embodied experience.
P.S. Wikipedia does an okay job of defining nondualism.
I think you explained in a minute what took Nagarjuna a shelf-full of books. I cross-stacked it.
Non-dual logic always makes me giggle a little when it hits.
