The power of an illusionist’s trick lies only in the mis-perception of what is really going on.
The magician can only fool us as long as we don’t see what’s really happening but instead see only what they want us to believe is happening
The apparent self can only fool as long as there's no seeing past the illusion of it to reality as it is without beliefs about it.
Consequently, the solution to seeing through the self illusion is to look past or beyond it.
If we never look but only think about looking — well, good luck with that.
If we never look but only discuss methods for looking — same.
If we never look but only worry about the consequences of looking — ditto.
LOOK.
Look at what?
Look at what is reading.
Look at what is thinking.
Look at what is feeling.
Look at what is sensing.
Look at what is looking at the apparent one doing the looking.
Looking means to notice, to register, to be aware of (not to visually see something).
Notice what is always present no matter what is going on.
Notice, notice, notice.
Look, look, look.
Just get a really good, clear, unveiled look.
See that Dave Wayne of the Unstruggling Academy has written his first, soon to be released book, on this very subject.
It is called…
JUST LOOKING Finding Freedom From Inner Struggle Without Self-Improvement
Thank you for introducing me to Dave, my latest coach, Kat.
Yes! “Look at what is looking at the apparent one doing the looking.” Almost hurts my head! I seem to be able to “hold” this looking for only brief seconds, yet that feels just long enough to get the door cracked open for a quick peek. And then again, there is a kind of “turn around to see” who is looking too. These words don’t really seem to make sense, but in that different way of knowing, I know.
