A most “dangerous” position to be in:
the belief that one is now free from a self.
I’ve seen through the self illusion and am now selfless.
The self believes it can realize no-self.
At least partially. Maybe even totally if it does a really good job.
But seeing no-self doesn’t mean that selfing stops.
It can’t stop. It’s what the human body/brain are conditioned to do.
(Apparently something like losing all sense of self can happen but it causes psychosis.)
Seeing no-self means that the constant, conditioned selfing is now seen and recognized for what it is — a cognitive illusion, a mirage. Our identity, volition, and agency exist only in our thoughts.
What ends is the belief that this apparent self is who I am.
So any thought about an “I” doing or being something, even supposedly selfless somethings, is obviously false.
A selfless self is an oxymoron.
An enlightened or awakened self is impossible.
Any thought about a someone going out and awakening others is more selfing.
I have seen the truth and it has set me free.
If we don’t see how that’s impossible, we’re in trouble.
If we believe we’ve overcome selfing itself …
we’ve fallen straight into the arms of the spiritual ego.
Such a relief, for no one!
Thanks for this post, it’s just helped ME work it all out, I can do this! 😜
