I find it less challenging when I stop to remember…that In a night-time dream ALL the characters arise in “my own/ONE” consciousness, both my own “character” and any/all “other characters”. When waking up in the morning That “dream character” is Not what wakes up…it just vanishes….The “day dream/reality” is like that….
I am finding the issue of relationships particularly difficult in my non-duality journey. I can see/feel deep down a resistance that somehow giving up my sense of self equates to giving up my relationships: husband, father, etc. I can see intellectually, I guess with my mind, that this is quite silly - why would connecting with oneness disrupt my relationships? Yet, I can just feel deep down scared that it will. Not rational.
Fear is never rational. It's part of the deal. Not silly but human. Just continue to inquire while the fear is present. Don't give it attention or try to get rid of it.
Hello, finding this quite difficult to relate to this morning. Especially when ‘ others’ have a strong sense of self and are struggling with life. Umm I am pondering , but probably shouldn’t!
Of course no-self is true self and there aren’t real others. Yet there are 8 billion bodies walking around with inner life’s that I have no access to, from a practical viewpoint they are others. Other-selfs, if you will.
But, as long as separation is perceived, when stuff from your subconscious rise through interactions with “others”, you could say metaphorically they act like mirrors. And it is actually powerful to adopt this view as it allows taking responsibility and empowerment.
It’s strange to me to descriptively share statements like “there is only YOU”, since the mind that perceives separation will not magically unbound itself by reading something like that. That requires serious work and maturation from within an individual mind, not by acquiring information from outside it.
Rupert Sheldrake recently wrote a great substack, demonstrating that we see so much extravagant beauty around us because we are all one, and it is the field resonating. He used the example of the beauty of flowers. Your picture resonated deeply with his post. 🙏🏻

Yes, exactly 👌
The good old “there’s only this” ♥️
I commented with your post here to Thom Hartmann.
He was connecting mind and matter and interconnection.
But with what seems to me separation.

Excellent advice of course! Resistance can often give what we are trying to resist more power. BTW - thank you very much for your thoughts!

Ha ha, a bit of me was screaming!
Well, there was a time when words like these would have made me scream in frustration so "finding it difficult to relate to" seems alright. 😉
Freedom....!!
Where do I start?
Where do I begin?

That's okay, I'm not under any illusion that this writing will unbind any minds. ☺️
